Several POS's across the country are using photos of fallen Officer Jonathan Diller and his 1 Year Old son in a Identity Theft Scam according to the Pittsfield and Oxford (MA) Police Department's, and the IMPD in Indiana.
"The posts are a “bait and switch” scam, which means after the posts gets enough shares, the “scammer changes the original post to a deceptive rental ad or sometimes to a link pointing to a survey that ‘guarantees’ a cash prize,” according to the Better Business Bureau. The BBB reports that it is commonly done with missing/injuried Child or Pet.
