She is in the FLSTP right now which lasts about 5 or 6 weeks after competition she will get assigned to a battalion.

I don't understand this article. Good for her and congratulations but I believe there have been Latino fire officers for quite a long time in FDNY. The ones I met were very good and highly respected. But maybe I am wrong.
