FDNY ditches tech partner, tries to revamp dispatch system on its own

Two years into the development of a new computer-aided dispatch system for the city's fire trucks and battalions, the Fire Department has pulled the plug on the project and decided to modernize its system on its own. The new system, which would revamp an operation that dates back to the 1970s, was previously expected to be in place by the end of this year.
