FDNY Fire Service Line of Duty Death
March 28, 1910 - LODD
Fireman Joseph N. White, 28
Engine 16
FDNY. Manhattan, New York
While Fireman White was driving the steamer to an alarm, the wheels of the engine hit a large rut in the street, jolting him from his seat. He fell forward between the horses and then to the street, where the wheels of the heavy machine passed over his body. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died ten minutes later.
RIP. Never forget.
