Lieutenant Bowler received a severe laceration to the hand while operating at a fire at 1582 Madison Ave., occurring on January 2, 1934. Bowler died from septic poisoning at Bellevue Hospital on January 15, 1934. He served 24 years with the F.D.N.Y.
Thomas A. Bowler died in Bellevue Hospital of septic poisoning that resulted from a cut he received on January 2nd while fighting a fire at 1582 Madison Avenue, Manhattan. He was forty-seven years old. At the time of his death, Lieutenant Bowler was attached to Hook & Ladder Company 43. He joined the Fire Department in 1910.
