Incident Location: 26 West Seaman Avenue
Just before 01:00 hours on the morning of Saturday October 19th, the Freeport Fire Department was alerted for a reported house fire on W. Seaman Ave off of N. Main St. First responding units were notified by Nassau County Fire Communications that they were taking numerous calls reporting the fire and that somebody was possibly still inside. On arrival, a signal ten (working fire) was transmitted as firefighters were faced with a heavy fire load in the rear of the home. Engine 216 and Hose Co. 212 arrived simultaneously and began combatting the blaze. Tower Ladder 217 arrived as the first due truck and began searching the home for any possible occupants and for fire. Firefighters would stretch four total hose lines placing three into operation to extinguish the fire. Mutual aid responded from surrounding departments to assist. One civilian and one firefighter were transported to local hospitals with non life threatening injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation. All units operated under the command of Chief of Department Gonzalez (2100). (Text Credit SFFB).
