On the afternoon of Thursday, April 20th, 2023 the Garden City Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] on 7th Street between Franklin Avenue and Hilton Avenue. Firefighters stretched two hand lines and put at least one hand line into operation for a fire on the second floor of a three-story mixed occupancy. All occupants made it safely out of the building and the fire was quickly knocked down. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Garden City Chief of Department Pearn [1400]. Text courtesy K2M Photography.
