Note - Gary, a large city (maybe 100,000) laid off 20% of its fire department at start of 2011.

Say what you want, Gary is 95% minority, did not see many minorities at this job. Gary is a very dedicated department, even after to loose 20% of manpower and 5-6 companies. Initial response is 1 and 1, third arriving unit is a chief. Give me a break! Been to Gary, good dept, good guys, but they are pissing in the wind!
