Great Boston Fire of 1872

Today is the 152nd anniversary of the Great Boston Fire of November 9 and 10, 1872. Box 52 was sounded. 77 buildings were destroyed and 1/2 of the downtown section was destroyed. Damage figures were 73 million dollars, 1.7 billion in todays dollars. 30 people were killed, including 12 firefighters.
