Turns out that one week before this fire Heathrow Airport had a partial loss of power to runway lights after they had a theft of copper cables supplying them. Airline operators complained about the lack of security and resiliency at that time. The airport told them that they paid extra for power, water, and jet fuel resilience setup. Then, they have the Hyde North substation fire and have to shut down the busiest airport in Europe. Blame is now happily being passed to UK Electricity Transmission for the National Grid.
I'm sure that would never happen here.
