On the night of Friday, August 11th, 2023, the Hempstead Fire Department was called to a nail salon on Fulton Avenue off Main Street to assist Hempstead Police and Nassau County Police units on scene. Two subjects were caught in the process of burglarizing the business and while trying to escape got themselves stuck on the roof of the one-story commercial building. Unfortunately, Hempstead Truck One was out of service at the time. Baldwin was requested in place of and responded to the scene with Ladder 207. Members of the Nassau County Police Emergency Services Unit utilized the tower ladder to apprehend both subjects and bring them down to awaiting Hempstead police officers. Baldwin Ladder 207 responded to the scene with First Assistant Chief Hopkins [2051]. (Text & photos courtesy K2M Photography)
