Incident Location: 26 Plover Lane
On the morning of Thursday, July 25th, 2024, the Hicksville Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a working fire on Plover Lane off Winding Road. Firefighters put at least one hand line into operation for a fire on the number two side of a two-story private dwelling. Firefighters’ efforts were hindered by downed wires, a home with solar panels, and a compromised electrical service. Once PSEG was on scene firefighters were able to fully extinguish the fire. Fortunately, there was little to no extension into the residence or reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Hicksville Chief of Department DiFronzo [9301]. (Text Credit K2M)
