I can imagine they will also be very useful during snowstorms! Although overall it doesn't say much they will be used very much. I wonder where they will be stationed and how they will be manned? The Calistoga wagon type covering on the back is rather strange.
Covering over the rear most probably to shield both Rescuers & Rescuee's in a storm....it would have the flexibility to be removed if neccesary ....JMO.
It looks like there is something that is under the body between the cab and rear wheels. Anybody know what it is ?? Maybe a ladder to put at the rear for loading/unloading.
I went to the FDNY salvage yard for work and saw 5 of these units sitting in the parking lot I didn't ask what they were doing with them next time I go I will but really awesome trucks
Ok, now someone correct me if I'm wrong, but, weren't these all supposed to have double decker trailers assigned to them with newly purchased Rescue One Connecter Boats and SOC's Zodiac on top? The Rescue One boats were supposed to be for shallow water rescues.
Those trailers were delivered, not sure whare there stored but I have seen I think 2 of them when they did that photo shoot showing off all the gear bought after Sandy, at the time one was being pulled by the newer SOC SCUBA truck, I can't rember how the other one got there but I think it might have been one of the SOC pick up's
