On the morning of Friday, March 8th, 2024, the Inwood Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] on Bayview Avenue off Monroe Street. The fire was first called in and reported by Chief of Department Kenyatta Stevens who pulled up on the fire prior to dispatch. Firefighters put three hand lines into operation for fire on the second floor and in the attic of a two and a half story peaked roof private dwelling. East Rockaway was designated the FAST and responded to the scene with Ladder 403. All occupants made it safely out of the residence and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Inwood Chief of Department Stevens [3100] had command of the incident. Text courtesy K2M Photography.
