While looking through the pic's from the Bronx 4th I noticed in one of the pics an EMS member scotted up.  Is this something new, or just something that has been and this is just the first time someone posted a pic of it.

That would be a "Rescue Medic". 
They have been around for about four (4) years now.

Was there a mayday maybe?  They are on the 10-66 assignment but if they happen to be one of the units on a normal box that boss could have them ready as a FAST unit.

At the Walton Ave fatal fire with FF Reilly and Lt Howie Carpluk, the Rescue Medics did go down and try to start patient care.
They also worked on the member pinned in the tower ladder, starting IV's and what not.

For any FDNY member interested go on diamond Plate and they have a power point explaining the program and showing some of the crazy equipment they have, all they way down to handheld ultrasound and blood screening on scene.
