Sunday Evening the East Rockaway Fire Department was alerted for a Mutual Aid Request for the Water Rescue Unit to respond to assist the Island Park Fire Department at the scene of a boat aground with multiple people in the water.
Chief’s Monaco and Vesce, Heavy Rescue 407 with divers, and Marine 25 responded to the scene.
14 Individuals were safely removed by the shallow draft boats of the Island Park Fire Department and City of Long Beach New York Fire Department while ERFD Marine 25, USCG, and NCPD Marine Bureau maintained a safety perimeter.
