James City County *Structure Fire* 4316 Sprucemont. Caller reports townhouse and multiple vehicles on fire. 18:19 Late Post

E-1 on scene reporting heavy fire alpha side, fire through the roof, extending to exposure on bravo side. Defensive attack with a 2 1/2 line. Tower 1 setting up for ladder pipe operation. Rescue 2 performing search in the bravo side exposure.
E-41 has water supply. York County E-5 laying to a second hydrant to supply L-31. Second 2 1/2 in operation on charlie side.
18:50 All hands working. Fire knocked down. Two interior crews working in main fire building, one interior crew working in exposure.
18:54 Second alarm called. E-31, E-51, York County SQ-3, York County L-7, New Kent County Quint 501, Williamsburg M-10
19:00 New Kent E-504, Camp Peary TOW-1, Newport News Engine 9, Newport News M-601 transferring to the County to fill-in.
20:30 Fire marked under control. E-51, E-31, L-31, R-2 YE-5, YSQ-3, YM-5 NK-501 being released.
This is the most resources ive seen used in James City in a LONG time.
I agree. They put 28 people on the scene with the initial alarm. After 30 minutes of non-stop firefighting, they needed a break, so they called the second to rotate personnel. Access was also an issue. The house was halfway down a dead-end street. It was strange hearing Newport News units running calls in the County. I haven't heard that in a long time.

No one hurt after fire destroys roof, garage of Williamsburg home
The homeowners called 911 after a fire started in the garage. They got out safely.
