That rig that we inherited from 732 was a 2 cycle diesel and 5 speed stick and was quick. A chauffer had the unfortunate problem of stalling it and the engine started running backwards sending the exhaust fumes into the semi enclosed cab. He had to shut it down and restart it. The problem with it was when it broke down it would be OSS for long periods of time. In the winter we got a Seagrave enclosed seating and the guys no longer wanted the LaFrance. I think they shipped it off to Staten Island. It had the biggest siren on the front bumper to let everybody know we were coming.
