WMFR firefighters on a structure fire on the southeast corner of 13th and Depew in Lakewood this morning. A passerby noticed smoke and called 911. When the first crews arrived, the structure was fully involved- old tires and shelves of lumber were fuel for the fire.
Quick action by firefighters kept the fire contained to the property. People experiencing homelessness were reported to be using the abandoned building as a shelter. Our investigator says the fire was human-caused.
Thanks to Denver Fire Department for the assistance.
