Incident Location: 28 Bark Lane
The Levittown Fire Department was alerted for a house fire on Bark Lane at the corner of Beaver Lane about 02:10 on October 12, 2024. Chief of Department J. Behrens and First Assistant Chief Angelletta responded first and were told by their Dispatcher that numerous calls were being taken and that Nassau County Police were on scene confirming a fire. Chief Behrens arrived and transmitted a working fire and had heavy fire showing from the first and second floor of a two story home. Engine 623 was first due and had a hydrant right in front of the house. Ladder 621 set up in front of the house and Ladder 626 set up on exposure two on Beaver Lane. Engine crews stretched and operated three lines to extinguish the fire and bring it under control in about an hour. All searches were negative and there were no reported injuries. The occupants home at the time exited the house safely. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the Wantagh Fire Department for a FAST Truck and the North Bellmore Fire Department for an Engine. The cause of the fire is under investigation. (Text Credit Zone2Photo).
