On the evening of Tuesday, July 11th, the Levittown Fire Dpet. along with mutual aid cos. operated on the scene of a working fire. Firefighters stretched three hand lines and put at least two of those hand lines into operation for a fire on the number three side of a two-story private dwelling. There was extension into the residence; however, firefighters had the main body of fire quickly knocked down before it could extend further despite multiple propane tanks adding to the fire load. The Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Hazmat Division was requested and responded to the scene to secure and burn off several propane tanks. All occupants made it out of the home safely and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Text courtesy K2M Photography.
