"This evening at 6:31 pm the Long Beach Fire Department received a report of a swimmer in distress at Long Beach Boulevard and the Ocean Beach Park, luckily the Long Beach Fire Department Water Rescue Team was training on the beach at Riverside Boulevard, our Jet Ski with an operator and Rescue Swimmer immediately responded, they were able to rescue the swimmer placing on our Rescue Sled and brought him to safety on the beach.
The swimmer was evaluated by an EMT from our Water Rescue Team and refused any medical assistance.
To say the least, it was the swimmer's lucky day, to get into distress on the beach next to where we were training.
They were definitely in the right place at the right time, another job well done!"
