At 7:58 am Sep 9, the Long Beach Fire Department received a report of a swimmer in distress at Lafayette Blvd. And the Beach, upon arrival it was determined that 7 individuals were in distress,.
4 of the swimmers were able to self extricate after going around the jetty's, 3 swimmers ended up on the Jetty's and had to be removed.
4 swimmers refused medical aid at the scene and 3 were transported to Mount Sinai South Nassau Long Beach Emergency Department.
All Operations were under the Command of Chief Hadrick Ray and Assistant Chiefs Marino, Babich and Reinhard.
