Loudoun County, VA — Multiple fire and rescue units from across Loudoun County and neighboring Maryland responded early Saturday morning to a major structure fire in the 13000 block of Loyalty Road.
According to Loudoun County Fire and Rescue, crews from Lucketts, Hamilton, Purcellville, Leesburg, Lovettsville, and Frederick County, Md., were dispatched at approximately 3:35 a.m. after reports of a building fire in the rural Catoctin area. Firefighters arrived to find a roughly 100-by-150-foot metal building heavily involved in flames.
Due to the structure’s size and the lack of municipal water infrastructure in the area, a Tanker Task Force was requested to supply additional firefighting resources and establish a sustained water supply from a remote source. The effort involved hauling water to the fire scene, a common practice in western Loudoun’s rural districts.
Firefighters worked to contain the blaze and protect surrounding property. No civilian or firefighter injuries have been reported.
The Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office remains on scene conducting an investigation into the fire’s origin and cause.
