In July, 1863 the Wrightsville Bridge was burned to cut off the advance of the Confederate Army across the Susquehanna River in the Gettysburg Campaign.

On April 3, 1955, my great uncle Sherm (b. 1894) was killed in a motorcycle accident on the Wrightsville Bridge.
