On the afternoon of Monday, December 18th, 2023, the Lynbrook Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a multiple alarm building fire on Merrick Road off Earle Avenue. Firefighters put multiple hand lines into operation for fire in a two-story mixed occupancy. All occupants made it safely out of the building and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The scene was placed under control within eighty minutes and Lynbrook Chief of Department Ambrosio [429] had command of the incident. (Credit K2M)

The fire came in as a building fire for possible hot water heater with language barrier. On arrival of Chief primaries were arching at a transformer on the 4 side and then when went inside had heavy smoke condition and transmitted the job. Truck Co qtrs were a few feet away which was were standby companies initially were going so ended up with more then a 2nd alarm of units.
