At approximately 8:06 PM last evening the Lynbrook Fire Department was toned out for a garage fire in the rear of 44 Yale Pl.
Upon arrival, the fire was contained to the inner portion of the garage however when the structure started to fail, voids opened up which introduced oxygen into the garage causing it to fully ignite. With the addition of the winds from hurricane Fiona the fire started to spread to adjacent structures. The members of the department responded quickly and did an outstanding job performing their duties and ensuring that no other property, aside from the original fire location, was destroyed. We received support from the Valley Stream, Malverne, East Rockaway, and Rockville Centre Fire Departments. Text & photos courtesy Lynbrook FD.
