1811hrs- (From Whiting Fire Co.) Station 33 was dispatched to the area of 539/Horicon for a heavy smoke condition. Upon arrival of first arriving units a large brush fire was confirmed. Chief 3300, Asst Chief 3310, Brush unit 3339, Brush unit 3319, Engine 3301, Engine 3311, Tanker 3318, Utility 3317, and Utility 3327 responded with NJFFS.
1854hrs- Command Post at Whiting Firehouse (Station 33). M/A task force from Ocean County Zone 4 for structural protection requested, staging at Whiting Firehouse. Fire is burning from Route 539 to the northeast along Route 70.
1900hrs- Staging relocated to Stop N Shop (Lacey Road X Whiting Road) due to wind direction. EMS M/A to continue to Station 33.
2000hrs- NJFFS mobilizing significant resources. Additional Ocean County engine companies requested to staging.
2200hrs- NJFFS rpts 10% containment, approx. 500 acres. Some Ocean county companies being released.
2300hrs- NJFFS now rpt fire burning toward Lakehurst, north of Route 70, with structural protection req. along Division St in Lakehurst.
2315hrs- NJFFS with an evacuation order from Division St to Myrtle St. M/A Engine company strike team to Eisenhower Circle.
2330hrs- M/A strike teams req. from Monmouth County (Engines and Tankers)

0600hrs- NJFFS rpts 2,500 acres, 20% containment.
1000hrs- (From NJ Forest Fire Service) NJFFS has made substantial progress on the fire which has reached 3,859 acres in size and is 50% contained. Routes 539 and 70 have reopened.
1500hrs- NJFFS WILDFIRE UPDATE: Manchester Township – Jimmy’s Waterhole Fire
The New Jersey Forest Fire Service continue to make substantial progress in containing a wildfire in Manchester Township on federal, state and private property which has reached 3,859 acres in size and is 60% contained. 20 structures remain threatened. Local volunteer fire departments are providing structure protection as needed. There are no evacuations in place. Horicon Ave is closed. Beckerville East Road and Beckerville West Road are closed. Forest Fire Service personnel will continue working to improve containment lines on Route 539 and Route 70 which were closed overnight.
The New Jersey Air National Guard have provided two Blackhawk helicopters who will be conducting water drops this afternoon.
