In the Day Newspaper article that you mention above, "Fire displaces two in New London" (www.theday.com ) I am an online subscriber to that newspaper where I wrote a comment.

Along with the New London FD, there were also some excellent departments that responded to the scene, as well as relocated to cover that busy NLFD.
