Correct, anesti. I believe the building is still used for the Maintenance Facility and Special Ops. Battalion 6, the NFD's "Safety Battalion" is quartered on Orange St. as well. It's a shame Ladder 1 was closed down. Now, Rescue 1 and the Haz-Mat. Units are quartered with Engine 11 and Ladder 11. Ladder 1's old tower is now being used by Ladder 6.

A little NFD history. Before they were at 191 Orange St., Ladder 1, Rescue 1, and the Haz-Mat. Units were located at 188 Mulberry St., Downtown, next door to the present-day Prudential Center. The firehouse was torn down when they built the complex. At one time, prior to their being disbanded, Engine 1 and Engine 3 were located on Mulberry St., while Rescue 1 was quartered with Engine 24(disbanded) at Academy St., Downtown. Below is a picture of the old Mulberry St. firehouse:

Downtown Newark is now effectively a "Truckless Triangle" you might say, between Engine 5 in the Ironbound, Engine 6 in Springfield/Belmont, and Engine 7 in University Heights.
