Incident Locaiton: 2598 Arleigh Road
The North Bellmore Fire Department took numerous calls reporting a house fire on Arleigh Road about 15:30 on June 25, 2024. The Levittown Fire Department also alerted, as they were getting calls for the fire in the vicinity of their district. First arriving units were met with a fully involved two story home. Engine 654 was first due and had a hydrant across from the house and immediately put their deck gun into operation as crews pulled hand lines off the engine. Ladder 657 arrived and set up in front of the house. As additional Engines arrived, two more hydrants were secured. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down, hand lines were brought inside to hit hot spots, and searches were done. All searches were negative. Three adults, two children, one being a newborn and a dog, all evacuated the house safely. The family was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, and there were no other reported injuries. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the Levittown Fire Department with full department response, the Wantagh Fire Department for a FAST Truck, the Bellmore Fire Department for an Engine and the East Meadow Fire Department for a Ladder.
