Norwich, Ct 2nd Alarm Church Fire 8/5/23

Fire occurred in Norwich, Ct - not in New London as is first mentioned in the article.
First unit on the scene, Norwich Engine 2 stretched a 2 1/2 inch line through the front door, as Norwich Truck 1 opened the roof.

The fire was contained to the area of the Exp 3/4 or C/D side of the church.

Besides the Taftville Vol FD and Norwich FD responding, other apparatus from the Laurel Hill, Yantic, Occum, East Great Plains and Jewitt City Departments responded.
Along with the Mohegan Tribal Fire Department as the FAST Co.

Nice job done by those departments that responded.
Damage seems to be limited to a portion of the interior along with the exterior part of the building, but is not a total loss.

So, did you take it in, Willy?

"raybrag", this fire was only about 10 minutes from my house - BUT - No I didn't take it in.
It came in about 10 pm which is past my night, night time.

I let the younger guys do that these days with clear instructions to report to me ASAP in the morning ! ! !

This article is typical of many news articles these days. It said that the church was in the wrong city and that it was fully involved yet according to other reports by trusted members it's wasn't close to being a total loss. Another example of why it's hard to trust anything published by news media these days!

I hear ya, Willy. I turn into a pumpkin at 10 PM on the dot (and half of the time, that's after an hour or two of snoozing in my chair).
