TELEPHONE COMPANY FIRE REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY
On February 27, 2025, at 1100 hours, the Department and the Fire Bell Club of New York will hold a wreath laying ceremony in honor and remembrance of the FDNY Members who operated at Manhattan Box 5-5 0465, known as the Telephone Company Fire. The ceremony will take place at the site of the fire at 204 2nd Avenue, New York, NY. We wish to have retired members and families of deceased members who operated at that Fire in attendance. Companies who keep contact with retired members and families are encouraged to notify them. All off-duty members and their families are invited to attend. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform.

I was invited to attend, so my son and I will be there. Hard to believe it’s been 50 years. I guess that makes me old. On the good side, I still fit into my uniform.
