RIP Mrs. Crane and thanks for your service to a group that is much too large. Many of these fine women were matrons assigned to each unit. The two matrons assigned to our house when I first got there were one FD widow and one PD widow, both fine women who gave us a hard time when we told them to stay home rather than travel to the ghetto each day. They did not want money for a job that they weren't doing. We finally prevailed and proudly paid them until they deceased.
