I strongly suggest purchasing the "Fire Department of New York- an Operational Reference, 11th edition. Do a search, several possible buying options will appear.

Yes "grump" that is an EXCELLENT BOOK which includes a huge amount of facts and information on the FDNY.

One buying option is the "FDNY shop" at www.FDNYshop.com

Just curious about the following units,

1) Rescue Battalion 2- Where is it located? Type of vehicle used?

2) What are the Carolina Skiff Teams?

3) Is Division 20 a reserve unit?

4) Is Battalion 73 a reserve unit?

5) Can someone please provide a list of Reserve & Spare Battalions, Divisions and Special units?

Rescue Battalion 2, Division 20 and Battalion 73 are alll reserve battalions / divisions. They do not have assigned locations or vehicles and would utilize a spare Battalion / Division vehicle and can be placed in service whereever the dept sees fit depending on the reason why they are activating them. I also second investing in a copy of the operational reference guide. It had an incredible amount of information and answers to many questions you might have.

Also Carolina Skiff teams are units that are deployed during bad storms synch as hurricanes etc. Carolina skiff is the boats manufacturer. I believe they are small aluminum flat bottom boats.  they usualy transport the boat with what ever vehicle is available to be assigned to them. In the past that?s included spare engines, training engines and pick up trucks

I have a copy of it but it does not say anything about the skiff teams, battalion/division spare units.
