A number of crews from Raleigh Fire Department responded to a fire in a former motel in the overnight hours

Additional information from Legeros Fire Line on Facebook

Here are building views of this morning's working fire in Raleigh Dispatched 3:08 a.m. for Wilmington and Lawson streets. Corrected address 2720 S. Wilmington Street.
Working fire on arrival, with Engine _ arriving. Upgraded to high-life hazard response with working fire dispatch, which added an additional alarm, notably four more engines, three more ladders, and both squads (rescue pumpers).
Three structures involved on site:
- Large commercial structure facing Wilmington Street, Holiday Light Store, one-story cinderblock warehouse building with 4,000 square-feet, built 1954
- Large garage/outbuilding behind the above structure, fire building, size/age TBD
- Adjoining but not attached one-story old motel, 2,378 square-feet, built 1955.
Still digesting radio traffic. Sounds like extension to the motel building, but only heat and smoke to the Holiday Light Store. Sounds like four lines (?) were stretched. Crews went to roof(s) for extinguishment and ventilation.
Wilmington Street closed during operations, due to lines and apparatus in travel lanes.
Control time 4:26 a.m.
