I read that myself yesterday. Isn't it a crock of Sh_t! Sounds like some Chicago lawyer found a way to make money for himself. Maybe in the past there was some validity to this but with the introduction of enclosed cabs in the 70s that issue was greatly reduced. I highly doubt that if a sound exposure study was done for firefighters (I've not seen any information showing where they have been) it would show exposure far below the acceptable OSHA limits. I work in areas that marginally met the OSHA limit in I can tell you they are significantly louder than riding in a firetruck. I'm not denying the firefighters have a hearing impairment I'm just questioning the cause being Federal sirens. Even if it is it is the responsibility of the employer to ensure applicable limits for exposure to sound a respected or that adequate hearing protection is provided. Nothing in the regulations presents a loud device from being manufactured and sold.guitarman314 said:Siren Company Loses One in Hearing Loss Suits http://cms.firehouse.com/web/online/News/Siren-Company-Loses-One-in-Hearing-Loss-Suits/46$62838
