10-27-09 South Baldwin Station 104 Option 107 Broughton truck 270 and Brentwood 116 (rit team) responded to a confirmed working structure fire at 5408 chessnut,st. 104 asst chief arrived on scene reporting a good fire with exposer side 2 and 4 and fire being feed by a natural gas line. A second alarm was requested bringing Whitehall 301 Pleasant hills 232. The fire was brought under control in about 3 hours after the gas company shut down to the house. Yes it did the reason it took 3 hours to shut the gas down is. 1 it took the gas company about an hour to get on scene. 2 when the gas company came on scene they could not find the curb shut off.
