There are a few Brooklyn companies with less runs & workers. As of 2006, the slowest engine co. was E-206 and the slowest ladder co. was L-106. As far as combined engine and ladder in one firehouse goes it looks like E-238/L-106 had the lowest Runs & Worker numbers.

What is the FDNY's definition of a worker? Looking at the individual companies web pages seems their are alot of workers, some companies over 3000 already. Are workers 10-75's or something else?

I'm not sure that there is an FDNY definition of a "working fire".

While a "worker" is technically any incident at which the company "operates" dispatchers use both of these terms  in advising responding units that the volume calls received tend to indicate a serious fire condition... something a bit more than the usual 'food on the stove' scenario.

What I was told, a "worker" is any alarm at which the company does work. That "work" could be anything including investigating an alarm. That's why a false alarm also counts as a worker for the first due engine and truck.

Strictly by the numbers, the units that do the least running are E070 and L053 on City Island. They average less than 1 run per day.
