If God forbid you should respond to any air crash, the Number #1 Priority is using hose streams and Foam If you can do it rapidly, to protect the escape routes to allow people to escape and to allow firefighters to rescue any they can. Use the largest stream you can to Sweep/Push fire out of the escape path starting, usually where the doors and over wing escape routes are located. In addition to my time in the FDNY I was trained in Aircraft Firefighting/Damage Control in my time in the U.S. Navy at the U.S. Naval Station Jacksonville Fla. and Mayport Fla.
