I noticed the squads have a nozzle -looking device attached to the diamond plate box. What is it?

cockloft nozzle?

The cockloft nozzle is a 6?-foot long 1?-inch aluminum pipe with a swivel adaptor which mounts on a 1?-inch nozzle shutoff.  The top end is a ?T? with opposing ?-inch tips, each rated at 60 GPM at normal operating pressures.  Handles allow the nozzle to be turned to provide 360? stream application. 
The nozzle is carried by squads and divisions.
