The Fairfield (CT) Fire Dept. responded to a house fire on 9/5/11 at 50 Chatham Road at 0420 hours. Heavy fire throughout an unoccupied house that was for sale. FFD returned to the scene at 1115PM to extinguish a separate, unrelated fire at the same house. On 9/8/11, there were three additional house fires in Fairfield, all involving empty homes that were for sale. One at 53 Cornell Road involved the first floor and garage. One at 321 Woodridge Avenue involved a garage. The third at 1100 North Benson Road involved the 2nd floor. Numerous mutual aid companies from Bridgeport, Westport, and Norwalk as the three fires were all within an hour.
