Tanker truck overturns, leaks fuel on I-75 in Covington, KY

Saturday evening the Covington Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a tanker truck overturned on southbound I-75 just south of the Brent Spence Bridge. Crews arrived to find the truck was leaking fuel from it's 8,000 gallon tank. Additional crews were called in as well as foam and HazMat trucks from neighboring departments. A Code Red shelter-in-place was ordered for a half-mile radius. The driver of the truck was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Fire crews were on the scene for over four hours. The expressway remained closed for more than 12 hours.
