Teaneck, N.J. 2 Dead in 3 Alarm House Fire 7/8/2021

On Tuesday, July 8th, at approximately 0325, the 2nd Platoon of the Teaneck N.J. Fire Department, was dispatched to a confirmed structure fire at 1162 Arlington Ave with possible entrapment. BC2 arrived on the scene and transmitted the 2nd and 3rd alarms. Tower Ladder 21 and Squad 24 arrived within minutes and started primary searches and an aggressive interior attack. Engine 22 and Squad 23 arrived on scene shortly after and assisted with fire suppression. Mutual aid was requested for assistance at the scene and coverage for The Township. The fire was placed under control in just over an hour. Tragically, despite all efforts, 2 of the occupants perished. The Township has a professional Fire Department of 100 uniformed personnel and operates from four fire stations.
