Tornado Hits Colonial Heights and Sussex County, Va.

A tornado hit Colonial Heights, Va. 20 Min south of Richmond. 5-6 large retail buisnesses, including a Target and Best Buy, had major damage with roofs removed. Luckily there were only minor injuries with most transported to Southside Regional medical center.  Also tornados caused 5-6 homes to be destroyed with 2 having people trapped in Sussex and Surry counties near the towns of Waverly and Cabin Point. All injuries minor.

I work for the City of Colonial Heights Fire part-time (no I'm not a scab) and have some great pics of the damage. Unbelieveable. This is the same area the tornado of 1993 took out the wal-mart with 4 deaths. I will get them up asap.....
