Are any training apparatus ever called into active fire duty?

Most likely during/after 9-11-2001. I know that they’ve requested probies to respond to a job. One such fire was on Mapes ave in the Bronx during a blizzard. The chief requested “a compliment of probies” from training to respond to the job. Apparently an entire H type went up. Couldn’t get rigs down the streets

I seem to recall that during the early 60's Probies were sent from Welfare Island (Training School) to a 5 alarm brush fire on Staten Island.
