Hanover, VA – Talk about a wild Saturday morning! Officers were called to the Ashland ABC store for something way more chaotic than a shoplifter… an extremely intoxicated raccoon who broke in, tore up the shelves, and then passed out in the bathroom.

The responding officer safely scooped up the furry felon and transported him to a local shelter. After sobering up and getting checked out, the little bandit was found to be totally unharmed and was safely released back into the wild.

Seems like someone had a little too much “holiday spirit.”

Stay safe out there, folks — and keep an eye out for tipsy wildlife!
The incident has gone viral, with the raccoon being dubbed "Trashed Panda". The Virginia ABC has named a number of cocktails after the little guy. FYI for those who may not know: There are no privately owned liquor stores in Virginia. The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Commission (ABC) runs stores all over the state and these are the only places to buy booze in the state.

And the ABC, showing that they can take a joke, came up with some cocktails in the spirit of the little guy , , ,
