Brazoria County deputy shot, killed while serving warrant in southwest Houston; gunman on the run

A frantic search is underway after a deputy with the U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force was shot and killed while serving a warrant in the parking lot of a shopping center in southwest Houston, authorities confirmed.

They're still looking for the perp

Perp just put down in last twenty minutes at the other end of the shopping center- couldn't get to momma's.

US Marshal K-9 flushed him out from underneath trash in a dumpster.

Unfortunately, the K-9 was shot before his handler took care of business. K-9 air-evacuated by DPS helicopter (without a secured LZ) to a vet hospital about six miles away just as Engine 21 is pulling up.
