Vails Gate Fire Department
Approximately 4:20pm this afternoon, the Vails Gate Fire Department members were dispatched to a reported structure fire. Prior to the fire departments arrival, the New Windsor Police Dept advised of an active fire in the kitchen area. E478 arrived with a full crew within 6 mins to stretch a handline to the fire. Crews encountered heavy clutter conditions. Splitting the crew of 6, the fire was quickly extinguished and a dog was successfully rescued from the residence. Crews operated on scene, staffing their own FAST team. 28 members operated for about 40 min before returning to service
