Valley Stream NY (Nassau) Working Fire 4/12/23

On the afternoon of Wednesday, April 12th, 2023, the Valley Stream Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire on East Avenue off Felton Avenue. When firefighters arrived on scene, they found fire in the attic of a two and a half story peaked roof private dwelling. A signal ten [working fire] was transmitted and mutual aid notified. Firefighters stretched two hand lines and put at least one of those hand lines into operation. The fire was quickly knocked down and its cause is under investigation. One occupant was transported from the scene to an area hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
